"Freedom To Go
Power To Live."

Our Mission:

Our mission is to support individuals with seen and unseen disabilities by providing flexible, mobile transportation services and access to community resources.

We believe everyone deserves the freedom to move, connect, and live on their own terms. Whether it's a ride to the doctor, grocery store, salon, or just to enjoy the park—H.A.N.D.Z. is here to help restore dignity, independence, and joy.

Our Vision:

We envision a world where individuals with seen and unseen disabilities, and underserved communities have the freedom and flexibility to move through life on their own terms. HANDZ Foundation imagines a future where transportation is not just accessible, but affirming- where a ride to get ice cream, go to church, or visit the park is never out of reach. We believe when people can move freely, they can live fully.

My Story

My name is Keesha Miller, and I’m a 49-year-old disabled entrepreneur from Buffalo, New York. My journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s one built on faith, strength, and a deep desire to turn pain into purpose.

In my late 30s, I was diagnosed with spina bifida, a condition I had lived with unknowingly my entire life. I didn’t fully understand what it meant until my health began to decline. I became very sick, lost some mobility, and eventually couldn’t walk. After undergoing major spinal surgery to remove a lipoma and untether my spinal cord, I was left with nerve damage, chronic pain, and mobility challenges that changed my life forever.

Doctors told me what I wouldn’t be able to do — but I decided to focus on what I still could. With determination, therapy, and faith, I can walk, though now I move differently. Some days I walk with a cane, other days I rely on my walker or wheelchair. But I’m still moving forward — literally and figuratively.

Before becoming disabled, I worked over 13 years as a city bus driver, and in my earlier years, I served as a PCA, HHA, CNA, and ROM aide in homes, nursing facilities, and hospitals. Helping people has always been in my nature — it’s who I am. So, when I could no longer serve in those roles physically, I chose to serve in a new way.

I became an entrepreneur, founding two LLCs — one focused on mobile DNA and DOT specimen collection and another providing private, non-emergency transportation for individuals in Western New York. Out of those experiences grew something even more personal: the HANDZ Foundation Corporation — short for Helping All Navigate Disabilities & Zones of Opportunity.

HANDZ was created to help people who are disabled, underserved, or simply in need of a lift — literally and figuratively.

Our mission is to provide safe, flexible transportation, and community resources that restore freedom, independence, and dignity.

Through HANDZ, I want to show others that disability doesn’t mean inability — it means doing things differently, with strength, heart, and purpose.

Every challenge I’ve faced has shaped who I am today. I may walk slower now, but I walk with direction — and every step I take is toward helping others find their own path to independence.
